Make or break game in round 6? What a time to be alive.
It was always gonna be a tough start and we're hanging in there, scraped a point and an away win where other years we might have not. To me it will all rest on the teams he starts with. There's no argument anywhere that I will accept that in any match, with all squad players fit, the starting front three are not Eze, Gyökeres and Saka. But I fear that we're not going to see that front three nearly often enough. Arteta could nip that fear in the bud by starting with that front three on Sunday. What's the bets that he doesn't?

I have my flu and COVID jabs next week, as well.

In the UK, the government/NHS have probably factored in the cost of jabs versus not having them.

It's probably still cheaper to give free COVID-19 jabs to vulnerable groups than not doing so, and people from those groups needing hospital treatment due to COVID-19.

You see a relaxed, warm, incredibly witty Willo (a huge contrast to Saliba in post-match interview mode, where he's much more "media-trained") chatting with passion and pride.

My favourite bit is when he mentions Paolo Maldini, but despite being Paris born and raised, he pronounces his surname as "Mal-dji-ni". The Brazilian (esp. Big Gabi) influence must be strong!

Saliba signing is spectacular news, the football world knows how important he is. A Rolls Royce of a central defender and he wants to win with the club he loves.

The reason Saliba is an Arsenal fan (I didn’t fully know this, posted a great clip yesterday) is because his mother gave him an Arsenal shirt as a kid with Henry’s name on the back. That shirt must have been like a badge of honour where he grew up in Paris. Wouldn’t have meant as much if Henry hadn’t won titles with Arsenal.

The angst/anger from fans is purely because we know the standard we have to reach to win the league and young fans in particular want to have heroes of their own, especially those kids who maybe have not much else to get excited about than football. Once we get into a groove it’ll subside a bit. This is a great team.

How are we going to score a goal ever again if we keep handing out contracts to centre backs?

We are second (again) after a mere 5 games. We're scoring after a major personnel changes and first team players missing.

Our goals scored is comparable to the league leaders and our non penalty xg is above them. Grow the fuck up and support the team. Well-done willow. Now let's win this thing.

Might be to do with our record of 9 second places in the PL, which is almost double the next team (Manu 5). It certainly could be worse, and I love our big willy

Arse. WiB.

Morning all.

Great news about Big Bill Saliba. Having him and his centre-back partner sign new contracts is great for the club.

If we were a proper club like Chelsea it would be an eight year deal.

But yes, very good news. The point about external noise versus all these new players coming in gleefully at the peak of their powers, and all our stars signing on again happily, is extremely apt and well made.

Saliba! We're set brilliantly at the back for a good long while now

"the word ‘begets’"
You could've used 'leads to". If its good enough for Yoda...

I've just looked at that Wingate and Finchley pitch. Am I seeing that right? Not just a concrete wall but the pitch dips down at the sidelines right into it. i've always thought those sliding pitch sides are a hazard and should be banned... looking at you Old Trafford.
