Wrighty and Eze interview is amazing- so hyped!
Gonna have to get back to a broadband connection to consume all the content. Seen the Wright interview and some fan reaction. Not gonna waste bandwidth watching Jamie O’Hara and company getting worked up at how gassed the whole fanbase is. It just brings the joy back, it’s done everything to unify the support. Wright was right, everyone is on the same page with this. Saw some chat about one more signing. I don’t think we need it and it feels like it would spoil the poetry of this. In a modern football world of schemas and stats, this is pure magic, ticks every box. Now Ebereche Eze Arsenal’s Number 10 just has to go out there and perform like we know he can, light up the team, light up the club, bring us the title. Can’t wait for Sunday, and I’m sure he can’t wait either. Bring it on!

This is what I was trying to say about flicking his foot at the defender. That's the only reason anyone could even attempt to claim it a dive and it's the only reason VAR looked at it at all.

It took a stone cold penalty and inserted some faux-question into it, and the same thing happened in pre-season. I just want his mentors to make sure the young fellow understands that before it becomes an ingrained habit.

I think as much as supporters’ expectations, it will be Arteta’s desire to win games that will need to be managed. In an ideal world, Max Dowman gets to finish his GCSEs, finish developing as a boy to man and we can give him time to integrate. As much as I want to see him in every squad, I also want him to have a full career. No matter his phenomenal talent he is still a boy and he does need time to grow. But if he’a blessed with so much talent, hopefully he’s blessed with some divine protection!

goldsoundz @ 13:05 | Aug 24, 2025
Unfortunately with long term injury recoveries (White, Kai, Saka) seems like you get those bad reactions from other areas of the body overcompensating. Hopefully these guys aren’t out too long.

I’m still not sure if we’re even out of second gear yet but things look very promising. I saw quite a few balls forward played by Zubimendi yesterday where the attacker did not follow through with the run (standout one was Odegaard). Alternatively there were multiple opportunities missed to play in Gyokeres as well that we didn’t take. Also noticed Viktor’s hold up play looks quite solid but nobody was playing off him to pick up the ball. Still lots of wrinkles to add.

Spot on.

It shouldn't be forgotten that Dowman is still legally a child and the club has a duty of care on that basis.

I have to say I like these new goal celebrations. A few hugs, a bit of backslapping then an easy jog back to the halfway line and no knee slides. We get enough injuries as it is without anyone unnecessarily fucking up their knees or ankles after scoring a goal.

2) Great though he was, I'm worried about over exposure of Dowman. Looks an amazing talent, but long-term development is key. Said it before, but only the BFG and Jeorge Bird should know anything about 15-year-old academy players.

3) Two games in, three injuries to key players. What was learnt from last season? Have we changed anything, or is this sheer bad luck and/or retribution from the Football Injury Gods? Another reason to be worried about Dowman.

Can’t even begin to express the emotions of yesterday, visiting Naples, the stadium, shrine to Diego, the offended looks from every bar owner with a TV that we would even ask about another match when Napoli were playing their first game of the season (2-0 McTominay and De Bruyne btw). A day that will live long in the memory.

I didn’t give up hope we’d find a screen showing the game and on the last street before the stadium where the car was parked, a betting shop with two screen showing both matches.

Watched the first half, would have stayed for the second but my nephew wanted to find a stream on his laptop so we headed to the car and missed Gyökeres’s first goal. I do think it was one of his trademark goals. Why did I even get anxious about him, loved the new celebration and that penalty… ooof!

Sad that Saka got injured, only consolation is it’s his other leg, hopefully not as bad as the first, hope he’s back soon.

And Dowman, just stirs something watching him play. Every time he shimmies and leave grown-ass men for dead I keep saying” HE’S 15!!!”. He’s gonna break the record for the youngest Prem goalscorer. It’s a matter of time!

So, on the new moon, I sign off with a Viva Diego and an Arsenal Forevva!

Welcome Eze, he’s ready made to slot straight in, Noni will be a threat on the right and Ive got a good feeling Nelli might be come good with opportunities next week v Pool.

Except when you look at that moment again, what he'd have done is give the ball to Zubi with 3 defenders in close range about to converge on him. Don't disagree in general terms, but this was another thing Neville invented and it's just accepted as fact

Top of the league, City losing to that lot down the road, scoring 5. Whats not to like apart from that lot down the road gaining 3pts..... But it's them and we know they'll fuck it up soon enough
I can live with it. It'll boost their confidence which will only make it more fun when, as you say, they come crashing back down to earth with a defeat to, I dunno, Burnley or something.

Morning winners

blogs, don't we have four 'starters' out injured as a result of the first two games? :-

Kai
Ben White

Saka

that's a pretty scary attrition rate even with the unprecedented squad depth we now have.

Morning all.
Liked Nwaneri’s performance too.
Madueke provided so much more threat than Martinelli and did equally well replacing Saka on the right.
Rice and Zubimendi in midfield covered so much ground. Zubimendi didn’t even look tired.
Odegaard was struggling before the injury… he just doesn’t want to let go of that ball anymore. I don’t get it. What happened to the one twos with teammates and quick balls forward? Even the commentators picked up on it yesterday, and highlighted a nailed on opportunity to slot it across the box but he instead held on, took and extra touch and chance was gone. Let’s hope his shoulder injury isn’t too bad, but have to say he needs to become more effective if he’s going to keep his place in the starting 11 now.

Morning all.

Super start to the season at home and great to see plenty of new and young talent on show. And Eze still to come!

Interesting analysis on MotD pointing out how the team will need to adjust how they have been playing last season in order to get the best out of Gyko, as well as Gyko needing to tweak his approach to the game
