For me it was whether he could handle the physicality, the one on ones. Still to see but he is so aware of space and he always chooses the right pass that that side of the game can be picked up by the giants around him and he’s actually a lot bigger than I thought. So much more than a ball circulator which is what I called him!!

Without backarsing I’m guessing you’re talking about Zubimendi. Took me 10 minutes to see him in an Arsenal shirt to see what the fuss was about. Xavi vibes.

I haven't been this excited about a new player for a while, and I think part of that excitement is that I didn't really know what type of player he was, so although I knew he was arriving, I still didn't know what to expect.

It's definitely an option. As I said in yesterday's arses, the old way was for strikers to hunt in pairs. Radford and Kennedy, Smith and Merson, etc. It might mean that our wingers have to slot into midfield when we don't have the ball, and one of the strikers might have to drop deeper. Not seen enough of Madueke yet, but I'm sure he can. Martinelli and Saka do this anyway. Havertz is experienced enough in midfield. It might be worth a try.

All this. As Gyökeres stepped back to win the loose ball and play it to Ødegaard, medium-sized Gabi (soon to be little Gabi) took the opportunity to temporarily lead the line. He was also aware that Saka was better placed to score. Maybe he'll be able to play with a bit more freedom this season.

Rice playing deep and having less carries up forward (unless when needed) will earn him more plaudits this season.
I remember when Coquelin was paired alongside Cazorla for Ozil to play 10, he had his best season at Arsenal

Arsene said "“He wins it back, keeps it simple and just keeps things ticking over."

When N'golo won PFA and FWA he had Fabregas alongside him with Oscar ahead.
With Zubi and Martin Rice needs to keep it simple.

The 2 quick goals for example (Saka & Havertz) may not have been possible if Rice got involved as he tends to have 3 touches or more.

Another example is Khedira at 2014WC with Bastian,Kross

The switch Arteta mentioned is a case of when the team needs to press high so Declan does what he does best while Zubi stays deep.
