Hehe i think it was an evening match and I think they stayed overnight at the hotel across the street, either that or they used the hotel as a base before the game? Either way they were all there. My mate came running into my room shouting ‘the whole team are outside’ and they were just sauntering back from looking at the ruins of the old cathedral.
Literally the whole team wandering down the road and only two or three people had noticed. I remember realising just how tall the squad was.

Wright for me as well. Growing up in SA on the cusp of the post-apartheid era, one of the "things" that drew me into Arsenal as a kid was the multiculturalism that I was experiencing as kids of color where allowed into our schools. First it was the '89 win at Anfield but, soon after it was the theatrics of Wrighty. I can only imagine now how my (apartheid indoctrinated) teachers winced when I scored a goal and mimicked his celebrations exclaiming: "Ian Wright shoots and scores".

On top of that, like you say, such an engaging character. How he mentors the young players, takes a stand for the womens game. Class.

I wonder if we can do a Fforest Gump on him at our place. Whenever he gets in that sort of attacking position, everyone in the stands needs to shout together “ Look Up “
I think there are some things we learned about finding ways to make Walcott effective that we could apply to Martinelli... more 1-2s and runs behind.

Zero chance Martinelli will ever "look up" at this point in his career. Love the kid but it is odd to see it at this elite level.

I know he gets a lot of criticism for his failure to see a final pass but he deserves credit for the immense amount of work he does covering in front of our left back
