Agyemang and Kelly will rightly take the plaudits, but a word also for Beth Mead who attacked the cross which led to the clearance which fell for Agyemang to score, and who won the penalty for Kelly's winner. Three Gunner Girls!

England being outplayed in that first half. Italy were more clinical, quicker, more accurate movement and passing. James looks so negative.

Trudat.

Gone are the days where I actually care about the transfer fees and wages. As long as we compete and don't bankrupt the club, I couldn't care less.

The calm efficiency that these signings have been completed is in stark contrast to the end of the window trolley dash where Wenger would pick up good value players and jazz hands then into a top 4 team only to sell the best ones a couple seasons later at a profit to "pay the stadium debt".

Even after Wenger with Gazidis, Raul and Edu it just never felt like there was a clear strategy to signings or that they addressed issues with the squad.

Early doors but I'm currently whelmed

Hey, when you feel that sure, you always risk hubris and I don't want to do that. If he doesn't score on his debut, there will be pressure. If he doesn't score after five games, there'll be a crisis. The rest of the Prem wants us to fail so much, but we have a complete squad now (barring the Eze deal which I really hope goes through as well).

You could argue anyone who continued and continues to support AFC is complicit in a way.
The article hints at it, but supporting 10 out of 11 players in a team is simply not really possible.
But that's why also the 'oh he's good, good riddance' as if AFC could just forget just as his contract was not renewed, in a way by luck more than judgment, does not sit too well, and you can't just scrub the dirt off like that, especially when we(as a club) just wilfully indulged in it.

Thanks for this article. What I feel most sad about for myself who supported him as a player for the past three years even as all the rumours and allegations were flying around (which for the most part I didn't look into as I didn't know which sources could be trusted) is that every time it was brought up it was the use of his name and the legal issues of directly accusing him, which many did, which stopped the wider discussion about how the club should have proceeded.

In any case, with hindsight, it's easy to see that erring on the side of caution, believing the rumours because so many were pretty sure of the arrest and of the likelihood of him being charged, was the right thing to do for many reasons.

And while the club can bear a lot of the responsibility by continuing to play him, therefore giving me the sense that maybe these allegations were not going to lead to arrest, I still feel pretty shit about continuing to support the football played by our No 5 midfielder, especially now it's all become reality in his arrest and upcoming trial. I might post anonymously on here, but I can't hide that I acted in this way and there are no doubt individuals and groups who would consider me - even if it feels harsh - complicit in some way for not raising objections while these allegations were still considered by too many of us sketchy rumours.

Shocking and sad from the club.
Partey's alleged actions make me so angry. I teach at a girls' school and have seen on many occasions how even teenage boys think that the opposite sex is there solely for them to exploit. If anyone thinks that the protection of women from what men can do to them is 'woke' then fuck them, basically.

As a member of the pastoral team in my school I've had to help pick up the pieces from incidents that would make you cry. It all stems from boys being taught by our society that girls and women can be leered at, made uncomfortable by sexual objectification, and violated emotionally, psychologically, and physically because that's the way it has always been.

Partey's alleged actions are both symptom and cause of this ongoing situation. I find the club's apparent willingness to show him even tacit support by offering any form of contract extension shameful. As I have said previously, I don't know what those involved in Arsenal Women must make if it all.

I imagine Arsenal will finally make a proper statement if and when Partey is found guilty, at the moment I don't think it's relevant to anything.

You realise the legal minefield that would provoke? "What exactly did you know? "Which mistakes specifically did you make and what compensation will you be prepared to give out to victims if there is a guilty verdict, to compensate for the time and hurt cause by your inaction?".

I'm not saying it's right to say nothing and give the standard lawyer's response, but it is expedient for organisations to do that. And nations have been doing much the same for years!

I saw a spoof a few days ago, possibly on Facebook, that suggested that the terms of the deal had been agreed, 100%, but Sporting were getting stroppy over who pays for the wine at the negotiations.
“Viktor Gyokeres deal is almost there. Arsenal and Sporting are now discussing who should pay the bill for the hotel where discussions took place. Sporting currently not willing to pay for 12 bottles of red wine. Talks are advancing.
One source has confirmed to us that Arsenal are not looking to deal with Lisbon. The Arsenal contingent all ordered simple burger and chips whilst the Sporting contingent ordered Lobsters, Steak and Caviar. Club were deeply unimpressed.”

Would’ve been much better if he had said that they tried to handle it in the best way they possibly could but that it’s a very difficult and sensitive situation, and that the club is more than willing to learn from any eventual mistakes etc.

Hopefully we do eventually sign Gyokeres. In the event that we have to play Unsporting in Europe, he'd better have a good look at the pitch before the game, to check the location of the goalposts.

Bloody predictive text. Thought I'd checked for it's interventions. Arteta's shorts were a strange LENGTH it should have said.
northbankfc @ 07:24 | Jul 22, 2025
Who would have thought the wacky, bold, original kit designs of the 1980s and 90s, the bruised banana, the lightning bolts, would become so much part of our tradition that today’s designers can’t think of or risk designing anything new.

It’s a nice, safe, away kit though, with the old purple and blue.

Arteta's suddenly aged and put on weight. I noticed in last nights picture parade. His shorts where a strange leggy that cut his legs in an ill advised place. I think the biscuit tin needs removing from the bedside table and is he going to let his hair finally change colour this time. I love grey hair. No, really. Always have done I used to spray my naturally blonde locks with strange silver powder when I first went to college in the '60's. It looked great but made it feel like Brillo pads. I thought Marli Salmon looked good on his video last night and such a good name. *goes to look up who Will Poulter is*
charlienicholas @ 07:14 | Jul 22, 2025
Simons is a baller - reckon he would be a better fit as he’s better able to play wide as welll as in central areas. He’s also 4 years younger than Eze.
