I went to a demolition derby on the weekend. I'd never been to such a thing before but do have to admit turning the brain off for a couple hours to watch people smash the ever-loving shit out of each others' cars was pretty entertaining.

If you ever go to one, DON'T bid the auctions. They do a thing where for one event they hold an auction for each car participating in that event. The winning driver of the event takes home half the total and the winning bid on that car takes home the other half.

The problem is they had 5 or 6 people around the grounds taking bids from people and I noticed the one near me was flagging for new bids without actually looking at the crowd at all. There were no bids there, he was quite clearly fake-upping the bids... Shenanigans!!

I find it informative that with so many clubs needing a striker, he ends up going to Turkiye. I suspect he and/or his entourage might be deemed not worth the effort.
That's always a possibility and he left Napoli after quite a tense situation so there's understandable suspicion. But Galatasaray are a big, well-supported club who came in and were willing to take the chance with him and the fans took to him straight away, he responded to the fans and he bagged a load of goals so it would make sense that he chose to stay where he feels valued and where he's done well. It may just be as simple as that. It's a shame in one way, because I do think he could have been a great asset to our attack from a footballing point of view. But Gyökeres showing such intent to join us adds a lot of credit to his move, which is why I have to believe that Arsenal wouldn't be crazy enough to blow this over a relatively small amount even if Sporting or the agent were to get some kind of extra the club feel they don't deserve. We get Gyökeres and I have no complaints. I think he'll be perfect for us, the best we can get... and that includes Isak!

Does anyone here NOT think 'northbank' when they hear 'Osimhen'? I know it's automatic for me. :-D
Heh!

Did you see Osimhen to Galatasaray?
It's just the formalities (which we still lack with Vik). He had a great season on loan with them (could have been us) and now he's signed for real. We missed a trick there. Let's not blow this one!

Reading the Gyokeres negotiations should qualify mrswoo to a season ticket

How is that even 'news'? Never heard of the bloke. Mind you I'm out of any loop, only times I ever hear of tiktokers, influencers, youtubers is when they are burglared, charged, or dead.
