I'm really annoyed at the new laptop having moved the USB-C to the left side and not having a non USB charging point anymore.
Doesn't work with my home set-up. Why the fuck do they change things around for no reason?

We went out for happy-hour margaritas and I watched the pens on my phone. What a farce. I hope that the Lionesses practice taking pens, as many looked like they had never kicked a ball before, let alone a penalty kick. fortunately Sweden's kicks were even worse, but I think Sweden deserved to go out because they gave up a 2-0 lead with 10 mins to go. Congrats to England for not giving up and for beating a very good side. Italy will probably be even tougher to get past in the semi.

Poncing about with the ball at the back seems to be an English habit or trait, especially at the start of a match. Slow hospital ball passing as if it is the 60th minute and winning by 3. I really don't understand it. Is it the coaching? The occasion or just complacency? Most frustrating. Hopefully they wake the fuck up.

Jens Lehmann played his one game after returning to Arsenal in April 2011 against Blackpool.
Date: April 10, 2011
Match: Blackpool 1–3 Arsenal
Venue: Bloomfield Road (Blackpool's home ground)
Occasion: Premier League
Lehmann's Age: 41
Context:
Arsenal had a goalkeeper injury crisis at the time (Manuel Almunia got injured in the warm-up), so Lehmann, who had come out of retirement as emergency cover, was unexpectedly handed a start.
He became the oldest player ever to play for Arsenal in the Premier League at the time.
Arsenal won 3–1 with goals from Abou Diaby, Emmanuel Eboué, and Robin van Persie.

A few others to mention along with Nelson, Hein and Vieira…
Tavares? Lokonga? Still Arsenal players or gone?
Marquinhos sold for 2.5million right?
If we can generate some money from these players it would go someway to recouping the slightly over the top outlay of around 65million on these 3.
Correct me if I am off…but transfer fees
Vieira 35million
Lokonga 17million
Tavares 9million
If we can get 30million back here it would be good.
Hein and Nelson, what fees could we realistically get?

It's going well, not sure about the 'very'. I'm just further away from sports than I thought, so perhaps I should realistically target a return to football 12 months post injury rather than, say, 9. 6 or 7 was clearly a pipe dream.

Success for Arsenal always has to be to compete. That means first and foremost to compete in the Premier League. And that ...

The big pity for Nelson is that he has probably been at the wrong club for his career. He probably should have recognised this a while ago and looked for a move

Success for Arsenal always has to be to compete. That means first and foremost to compete in the Premier League. And that means to compete right at the top, to win the Premier League. We haven’t been close enough in recent years, and we want to close that gap. So the first thing is to recognise there is a gap between where we are and where we want to be, and to take steps.
Some of it is in the transfer market, but there’s an awful lot of work as well this summer that’s gone on behind the scenes. We’re bringing through some really good young talent, and we’ve got reason to be optimistic and confident about the transfer market.
Goddam that man was so full of shit
