so we've apparently signed former Wolfsburg goalkeeper Anneke Borbe. That will spell the end of Zinsberger, I think. I like her a lot but last season Daphne well and truly supplanted her. I'd be shocked it she sticks around.

Borbe probably would've been Wolfsburg's #1 next season. You don't leave that to be 3rd choice anywhere.

We're back to "it will kill the youth". I have no qualms about Nwaneri. He's gonna be a great player and he will find ways to break through. The competition is exactly what he needs to step up. He kind of exploded on to the scene with his goals then he had a run in the team and he showed his inexperience in his decision-making in key areas away from the box. Around the box he's lethal, but he's 18 and has time and this season with less pressure to be "that guy" he can be nurtured and develop in a healthy way. And if he can't break through, then it means he's not been developing, not that anyone is in his way. This is exactly what a big club should be doing.

But credible reports suggest we are looking at a winger + Eze. Maybe it'll be a Mosquera type of youngster. I have to say I like Lookman. Earlier reports suggested we were interested. he's 27 like Eze so probably not the right age profile. But it's his busy-ness and his finishing that would be an excellent addition. In any case, as long as we get Eze, I'm not fussed at all.

I'm not too enamoured with the rumours of Trossard leaving, he played in almost every game for us last season and is the main cover on the left as well as being able to play in other positions. I have no problem with selling players who hardly played last season like Zinchenko, Vieira, Lokonga et al, but Trossard is a good player to have around. Having two players for each position is key to not overburdening the first choices.
