Agents get a bad rap, but Gyökeres's agent Hasan Cetinkaya needs some respect on his name for waiving his fee. No doubt he'll get some other benefit, but whatever went on in the last 24 hours, it's changed a lot. Nice way to finish the weekend. Big week of celebrations ahead!

Not at £85m. Give it until next year after we've swept the board. Despite all the moaning and frustration and impatience of some sections of the support, Vik and Eze go through and anyone complaining will not be met with disdain but laughter. There's no way anyone credible can complain about this window.

Hey, everything's a risk. But I'd say this is as sure fire a way to take us to the next level. He's a muscular, aggressive finisher. Not everyone agrees, but for me, it's exactly what we need and with the creative support behind him, I really can't see this as anything other than a game changer. If we get Eze on top of this, this will be the best window I can remember.

What Chelsea do really well is platform themselves to get the best out of Palmer. Same with Liverpool and Salah. That is what we should be doing with Saka. Need him in more goal scoring positions rather than sitting isolated and marked by 2-3 opposition players. Need a BIG season from Odegaard. We CANNOT afford to be slow off the blocks in opening 7-8 games.

Well Chelsea should be better this season. We need to spank them.

He obviously feels he’s being done dirty but unpleasant I’m sure for Sporting supporters. But I am absolutely loving the mentality from him. He knows exactly what the expectations at AFC are and he wants it. Exactly the type of mindset we need in this position.

My pre-diabetes means I rarely have anything sweet. Of all things I was at the funeral of a friend a couple of months back in St Albans and the family had the reception at a posh hotel. They had warm scones straight out of the over, maybe there were sultanas, but the scones were perfect and the clotted cream and jam was exceptional. Probably not a good look at a funeral reception that I went back for another round, and my body felt it afterwards, but they were the best scones with clotted cream and jam I've ever had.

A striker? What is a striker?

20km, nice. Are you a road cyclist?

This whole Gyökeres stuff has brought up something I have long wondered about. - how clubs can push players about and sell them to what seems to me, seemingly, any club they like. And what say, exactly, do the players have in all this. I did notice that Leno refused to go oop t'north because his wife didn't want to leave London. But generally players seem to get pushed around hither and yon.
Please note that sometime early last year or a little earlier Gyökeres was adamant in not wanting to join us.Now he's ditched his latest gf in order to facilitate his move. Confused of N1

My father in law eats boiled eggs without adding so much as a grain of salt. To me that is extraordinary.

Have a nice Sunday folkers.

Clotted cream.
Cottage cheese.
Then call it boiled cream - that's more or less what it is. And jam first otherwise the cream won't stick on thickly enough. Or you can bypass all this and eat the cream directly with a teaspoon. Is there any wonder that I have a dicky ticker.

Toast and butter and then on top something savoury. The only jam I like (damson) is off limits because off high potassium levels and anyway there are only a couple of producers in the UK as there aren't enough damson trees around. Also one of these producers has given up producing it as it is too costly to produce sans stones. First world problems.

Are we signing a striker at all?
northbankfc @ 08:24 | Jul 13, 2025
Anyway, the club can always waste a few more weeks by pivoting in vain to their original target Isak, now Newcastle are ready to meet the £86m release clause of Hugo Ekitike. Talk about another major distraction. Bird in the hand and all that.

They want us to show a bit of deference considering we're nabbing their star striker and we need that striker really bad. I keep using the term "optics" and Arsenal's optics continue to look bad. It doesn't matter that we're all speculating and none of us knows what's really going on in these negotiations. It's the perception which is remaining fixed among fans that as a club we keep blowing the best deals and wasting money on lesser ones which seem to be convenient to the moneymen at the club in some other, shadier way.

Clotted cream first and jam on top on a scone. That makes me a friend of Devonians and an enemy of the Cornish!

Butter AND jam FFS. If you’re going to just give them whatever they want for butter, then you’re going to get screwed when you go looking for jam.
Should have gone and got jam first. Just pay the bloody asking price.
