It's the blowing hot and cold that I worry about. I watched him at the start of the season and thought he looked exceptional. Along with Jackson and Palmer I thought they would be a bigger threat than they turned out to be. One reason might be how Madueke faded. But tbh, haven't seen enough of him to know for sure. I'm trusting on this and yes, Eze would be the perfect creative midfielder/attacked to complete this window.

All signings are a risk .. a better example would be Darwin Nunes who was tearing it up in that league and in Europe who is now a laughing stock although I’d have him here ( we can fix him 😂). Madueke is liberisk as fuck he has done it in this league from the age of 22 he is an England international. And regardless of people’s memories Pepe was scoring goals and assists at rather decent rate under managers who didn’t want him. But he was bad at the very things Madueke is quite good at , Madueke is great one on one , fast.. attitude is biggest risk.

People saying Gyökeres is a risk and using Radmael Falcao as an example of a player knocking them in in a Portuguese league and then failing. I mean every player is a risk, but I personally think he'll hit the ground running. What might be problematic is if we go and blow £50m+ on Madueke, who could step up but could equally be another Pepe. Might as well save that money for Eze or Rodrygo or both. I get if the selling clubs are making it difficult, but I do hope that alongside the Madueke deal we don't do anything silly and let Ethan go, not even on loan. He's ready to step up for us. He still only 18!

Even going for one of them will imply another outlay of £60M-ish minimum. Can't see this happening without us selling one of Trossard/Martinelli if not both of them.

Not to forget, we are spending £60M on Zubimendi, £5M on Kepa, £10M on Norgaard and approximately £15-20M on Mosquera. That is another £85-90M approximately.

We are selling Zinchenko, Kiwior and surely Lokonga and Vieira. Maybe we will get £40-60M for everyone together though we should get more for Kiwior as his stock has probably risen.

One thing about the Sesko offer not working out as per Miguel Delaney.

"Arsenal had still been at least €10m away from Leipzig's valuation on Sesko, with the German club wanting €40m of the release clause up front, and around €40m split over fewer instalments.

A further issue is that Arsenal hadn't agreed a final package with Sesko's camp for the player's terms, with the impasse lasting right up to last week with Berta specifically feeling Leipzig’s demand was too high a figure. It is understood that Arsenal got increasingly frustrated with the pace of negotiations and with Sesko's camp, which has been a key factor in the evolution of their striker pursuit."

I think if you watch our CL match again Sporting again he was an absolute handful for Gabriel/Saliba when the rest of his team offered very little. We haven’t had a striker who plays with this kind of unrelenting personality for a long time. I would be shocked if he wasn’t successful with us.

I think his clear physical attributes won't translate as well in the Premier League and he won't have space to operate as he does on Portugal.

All in all, I'm very underwhelmed. I balance this out with the fact that tje club have huge amounts of data on Gyokeres, but at the same time the data points to Sesko.

Let's see what happens

I'm hoping at the end of the season, l'll be on the receiving end of messages saying "you were wrong".

Havertz has been pretty decent but we overpaid for sure. I still don’t think there was a real market for him that summer. We’d be very happy if it was the 40m cut price deal it should have been.
He scored 15 in 36 appearances last season. If he got to 18 in 36 then one every two games is good. He might have got closer if he hadn't been overplayed due to other's injuries, subsequently knackered by the effort, then himself injured.
shrek2be @ 13:45 | Jul 6, 2025
I think the Rodrygo signing won't happen. I think we will get Eze and Madueke and maybe one of Trossard/Martinelli will be sold. Seen some new links for Trossard with Turkish clubs.

We are expecting to get Mosquera deal over the line soon.

Other departures are Zinchenko and possibly Kiwior .

Miguel Delaney (whom I respect) says we will move onto potentially 2 further players once a forward is confirmed. We are in talks with Chelsea for Madueke

Old history now. Arteta and his team-mates restored some self-belief in him. He’s still limited, also erratic in front of goal. But he looks useful as a squad player maybe even playing off Gyökeres in the Ødegaard role or maybe even the left 8 he was originally bought to play in.

Jorginho at £12m is neither here nor there. He did the job required of him.

Kepa at £5m will be fine unless he kicks the ball into his own net several times.

Surrounded by the talent on this team I don’t know how it won’t translates. The guy is an all action dynamo with probably the most well rounded striker game next to Isak. Only thing he’s doesn’t do is score headers and me personally I don’t give a shit because that already takes up too high percentage of our current goals. Dud is an absolute physical specimen with the right mentality and killer instinct. I think he’s coming to Arsenal to shut a lot of critics up and I’m here for it.

I was cool with Sesko too but there only so much fucking about with a guy to get him to want to come to the club. So he can fuck right off now.

They've announced a signing in a way no different to how they have done so previously.

I don't see how this fits with a conspiracy theory.

Nwaneri signed his professional contract upon turning 17 in 2024. That deal is due to expire next summer. Arsenal are yet to find an agreement with Nwaneri over a new contract, and talks are at a delicate stage.Allegedly.

He's talented but I do think people are getting ahead of themselves. He is super raw. There were times last season where he looked like a kid playing an adults game. Brentford, Everton and United games in the run in spring to mind.

It's a tricky one cause he needs minutes but I'm also not sure we can expect him to be the main support for Ode and Saka.

Madueke seems like a smoke screen for a player we actually want. 50mil for an average squad player just seems stupid. Spend the money on a striker and guarantee Nwaneri the game time. I like Arteta and want him to stay but selling Nwaneri and not winning (at least) the league or CL would be the end of his Arsenal career🤷

Saka was also very effective in the left wing and imo if Saka played left wing he would be in top three best left wingers in the league. So Ethan played Rw , both in pitch at same time ..

Arse! Well in Salar!

I think something broke down in relation between Mikel & Ethan midway last season. Probably why there was a lack of minutes for EN despite there being multiple opportunities. I'd rather we sell him for decent bucks now than lose him for peanuts/free later.

And I hate bailing out Chavs. If Madueke is priced for anything above 10m, we should walk away.

Regarding Madueke I think people are mainly pissed about the Chav Pipeline.. he has 2 seasons there 😀If that’s ignored it’s a decent upgrade in the Nelson/Sterling spot a young home grown player and one that can challenge both Trossard and Martinelli.
We are stil linked with flashier names and like Blogs wrote the first signings have been covering base necessities with well priced (below 50m is cheap for him) and easily aquirable targets.

Saka
Nwaneri

So what does buying Madueke mean for Nwaneri? Nothing, other than he will be a player fighting for his place like everyone (apart from Saka and New Striker (hopefully)).

I don't mind the player as a player. But this is a competition. On the one hand, they're allowing an actual competitor to turn speculative investments/stolen scouting into actual revenue....
He’s a tricky player. Seen him at the start of the season and he looked sensational. Then he faded a fair bit. If he’s the extra winger on top of Eze and Šeško it won’t feel so bad. The Chelsea thing does make it look like we’re going for the easy route still. We want the big guns announced!

On the other, they're haggling with Crystal Palace - not a direct competitor - over a player that they genuinely developed. It needs to start making sense, soon.
