Exactly. Either result was shot, but objectively, this was the better result. The loss of a CL windfall for Utd will be significant in transfer dealings and it will mean some greater difficulty attracting talent. I imagine, Utd will have to overpay in transfer fees and wages to recruit second tier talent. It also means their fans will become more restless.

hehe ! I know I have been annoyed with the Tomiyasu situation but what I am annoyed about is his trying to recover properly here but then being allowed to go to go to Japan to play. I know last time he probably didn't play but I think if a player is injured they shouldn't go on international duty. however much they want to ...it's just stupid

I don't think we should be keeping Nuno Tavares. Lol.

Also worth mentioning and didn't make the blog (there's a blog?) is KT's openness about the difficulties he faced with his mental wellness during his injury spells and being away from his 'home' of Glasgow. Just another demonstration of what a great character KT is.

Yeah agree, we spent a fortune on other left backs
, when we had a great one there in KT.
As opposed to buying a number 9 we have another great one often injured in jesus . I like Richardo , but zinny , Tavares and KT could have been used with different squad management.

I found out last night that Arsenal are playing my local National League South club on 2nd August, a ten minute or so walk from my house. Obviously it will be an "Arsenal XI" as the first team play in Hong Kong three days before that. My youngest is hoping to see Max Dowman in the flesh, but I fear he may be disappointed as all info suggests he'll be with the first team for pre-season.
chrism @ 07:57 | May 21, 2025
Arse. Well in BA.

Morning all.

Good luck for the future KT, you go with my best wishes. All any fan wants is for players to give 100% when they pull on the shirt and there's absolutely no doubt that he did.

Despite only living on the Isle of Man for the first 10 months of his life, Keiran Tierney is regarded as a true Manxman.
I'm a mere "stopover", being an immigrant who's lived here for nearly 25 years!
I'm sad to see KT is leaving Arsenal as his attitude and commitment was great to see and I wish him well at Celtic.

Love Kieran - as you say, tremendous attitude and, but for the injuries, should have been "our mainstay in that position for years to come" and probably club captain too.
Injuries were the killer, but not that he didnt have them previously at Celtic.
Goodbye Kieran, thank you and good luck!

I like him, but he hasn't been improving.

Regarding Tierney. Had it not been for injuries and a change of manager, he would have been Arsenal captain and one of the first players on the team sheet. Brilliant as captain for Scotland. Excellent signing by Emery. Sometimes when a new manager comes in, he has his set ways, set ideas and unfortunately it was very clear from the start that players like Tierney and Smith Rowe were not part of Arteta's vision. Very sad he's leaving, probably the only player in the squad who can cross a ball from the left.

There was a moment after he came on when Gabriel Martinelli was sent scampering into their half, and Tierney charged through to support him. I could see it in my mind’s eye, the ball across, and on his right foot, the Scottish international saying goodbye to the Arsenal fans with one last goal. Sadly, the movement was good, he was in the right position, but Martinelli couldn’t quite deliver the cross.
YES! Me and Esso were quite pissed off with Martinelli there.
