Both White and Kiwior (and Tomiyasu) have just enough height and physicality to be decent central defenders, but not giants like Saliba and Gabriel. Their partnership allows the full-backs who's height allows the rangy strides to move forward and back and cover enough ground and enough passing ability to find team-mates, though neither is outstandingly creative with the crosses. It's defensively where the three have ability to get back and make tackles and all three (White, Kiwior and Tomi) have been willing to adapt to the inverted role and their neat variety of passing has helped in this. So far, so good. It's be exciting to see Timber back and hopefully Hato on the other side providing more lateral movement and more ability on the ball. That is ahead of us. For now, we look reasonably secure at the back but still the possibility of lapses in concentration, not helped when lower level subs come on!

Yeah we are doing that somewhat. It's hard to fully put a finger on it... the tactics are quite fluid. Kiwior will stick pick his spots and show up in attacking areas that a traditional LB would be in as well. But that is part of the reason why his performances have been so good- his judgement and positioning have been spot on. Overall though I am impressed with how well he has adapted to playing within compressed spaces along the touchline. That is not an easy transition for players used to playing centrally- touch has to be spot on.

No seriously don’t think too much about it people are generally not that knowledgeable and they have their perceptions and that will stick until enough people inform them that “He is good now” . Trust me hur will get better ratings on worse performances once they understand that his level is high.

We're both right. Taking titles away would tarnish a decade of league seasons which would be dreadful for the image of the Premier League, but letting them off completely would look be just as bad (especially when anyone with eyes can see what City are doing... well, anyone not wearing light-blue blinders)

I suspect the result will end up being somewhere in the middle... unless City's lawyers manage to get a real court to rule against the League, at which point football would be dead and we might as well throw in the towel and all go home.

Imagine charging a club with 115 counts of financial irregularities, and all you do is .... fine them. Not a good look.

The benchmark is now there, and even if 100 counts are dismissed, they will still be in trouble.

I'm trying to remain realistic in my expectations. They won't be stripped of anything. That would be too damaging to the league from an image perspective. The least I'm expecting is a pointless fine, but what I'm hopeful for is a proper relegation, if not multiple relegations.

A points deduction is certainly possible, in which case we'd just have to hope it's a big enough deduction to ensure relegation.
myleftwingfoot @ 16:13 | Feb 26, 2024
Hopefully, those Italian clubs sniffing around Kiwior will be told to fuck off - if they haven't already - unless they offer stupid money, which they won't because they don't have any.

Not only will they be stripped of titles, but they could be looking at relegation if each charge is six points, and even if they get most charges thrown out, they're still in the shit.

Who votes? The general football supporter tends to follow the crowd a bit. Commentators are the same. They state opinions of players years after every football fan has stated it.

As recently as the first five minutes against West Ham, when he was late to react to two situations and failed to hold the ball, I was of the old opinion that he was too timid.

But he's found some rhythm and self-belief which tallies with the recent high-scoring performances. He's been neat and varied in his passing and his interceptions have been timely.

Let him continue there in the same vein and the public vote will rise to meet it.

I always thought there was a good player there but mostly as solid depth for Gabriel and a good chance to develop into a starter eventually. "So we get three players on relatively cheap deals which seem levels [off] what we’re comfortable with. We’ve clearly failed to land any of the [big] signings we’ve gone for. What makes anyone think we have the clout or negotiating skills to land Rice in the summer? At least we should be realistic about that. We still look short in midfield and up front but we’re top and we’ll just have to make do. Decent pivoting but still huge question marks over our strategy."
